Savannah Ocean Exchange is pleased to announce this year’s Industry Excellence Award winners:

These winners will present their solutions during the second annual Solutions Exchange on Friday, Sept. 21 from 2:45 pm – 4:45 pm at the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center (Industry Excellence Concourse 100-106).


The Industry Excellence Awards recognize and honor corporations and organizations that are implementing tangible solutions that shape the future today. These businesses entered a juried competition to show they have developed Leap to Zero+ solutions that generate economic growth and increase productivity while reducing waste and the use of natural resources.

“Energy innovation projects like this are critical to providing real, meaningful solutions for America’s energy future,” said Chris Hobson, Southern Company senior vice president for research and environmental affairs and chief environmental officer. “The leadership in energy technology that has been recognized by this award advances the notion that a healthy environment and robust domestic energy policy can coexist.”

“At IKEA, we believe in doing more with less, and listening to and learning from others,” said William Jackson, General Manager of the IKEA Distribution Center in Port Wentworth, Georgia. “In being honored for our pallet-less decking solution by the Savannah Ocean Exchange, we’re very happy to be considered one of the companies with a leading role in taking responsibility for the environment.”
