Heirloom Design Build recently won a gold OBIE Award at the 33rd OBIE Awards Ceremony held in November. The company won the award for outstanding design for a single family, detached home in the redevelopment /revitalization category.

Oakdale - Heirloom Design Build"Heirloom Design Build is very honored to receive this award for redevelopment and revitalization," said CEO and founder of Heirloom Design Build.

The award was won for a home that was originally built in 1893 and was a candidate to be a tear-down until Heirloom Design Build was hired to design and construct a plan. This plan utilized the existing home that included adding a complete second story and fully renovating the downstairs level. Heirloom Design Build was even able to reuse the existing hardwood floors on the main level.

"It was a great opportunity that we were able to work on this historic home and revitalize it. We wanted to design a house that reflected the architectural integrity it always had and ensure that it fit into the existing streetscape, while providing the space which the owners needed for their family, he said.

Since 1980, the OBIE Awards, which are presented annually every November by the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, Inc.'s Sales and Marketing Council, are the premier awards in the home construction industry.
